Himmelsk #27 and Skywatch Friday, season 4, episode 36

Dette var solnedgangen for noen dager siden,
tatt gjennom stuevinduet vårt.

This was the sunset a few days ago,
taken through our living room window.

Guest Heart Thursday #49

Here is a selection of found hearts from this week's various outings :-)

A puddle heart.

A moss heart
(just below the middle of the picture, between the tree stems.
You may want to enlarge to see it well).

A two-rock heart.

A tree heart.

And finally, 2 of what I hope are the last snow
and ice hearts of this winter season.

Please visit Clytie at Random Hearts for more heart warming photos.

Signs, Signs #11

When I go grocery shopping,
I hardly ever plan to climb up and stand on the freezer counters.

But just in case I decide to one day,
it's a good thing there's a sign to remind me not to!

Challenge #18: My street

My street.

We live on an island, and our county has approx. 11 000 inhabitants. When we moved here, in 1988, we had to catch a ferry to get to the mainland, but in 2001 we were connected to the rest of the world by a 1 km (0.62 miles) long bridge to the next island, and then an underwater tunnel that's 7,8 km (4,85 miles) long and goes down to 260 meters (853 feet) below sea level.

This is a rural community, and we live right at the end of a small side road. The farm that is our next door neighbor is not actively run any more, but in the spring another farmer usually keeps his sheep in the field to the left.

This is the view from our front door,
and the main road is beyond the upper field.

The same area, looking towards our house.

Some of the old farm buildings are really beautiful.

From above the farm, looking back down the road.

This is the view from the other side of our house, looking across the laketo the church. To the right of the church is our local shopping mall. They're not quite as close as it looks here. The big building to the left is a nursing home for the elderly.

Psalm Challenge #11

Psalm 11
To the choirmaster. Of David.
1. In the Lord I take refuge; how can you say to me,
"Flee like a bird to the mountains;

2. for lo, the wicked bend the bow,
they have fitted their arrow to the string,
to shoot in the dark at the upright in heart;
3. if the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do"?

4. The Lord is in his holy temple, the Lord's throne is in heaven;
his eyes behold, his eyelids test, the children of men.

5. The Lord tests the righteous and the wicked,
and his soul hates him that loves violence.
6. On the wicked he will rain coals of fire and brimstone;
a scorching wind shall be the portion of their cup.

7. For the Lord is righteous, he loves righteous deeds;
the upright shall behold his face.

From the Revised Standard version.

Himmelsk #26 and Skywatch Friday 4/35

FINALLY I got to photograph Aurora Borealis, Northern Lights!
On Thursday evening it was forecasted to be visible all over Norway,
and for once we had clear skies overhead.
It's not often that we get to see it this far south, so this was a real treat!
