Skywatch Friday and Himmelsk

I have posted northern lights, Aurora Borealis, before. But every time I see them, which is not very often as far south as we are, I am totally in awe of what nature can come up with. So here it is again, from September 27, my first sighting this season. It went on for hours, changing between cloudy and clear skies, and in between I got some lucky shots.

Amazing Inger...this is something I have always wanted to witness for myself...thank goodness I have friends who live in places where they can see it and share the beauty through photographs.

This is so beautiful. I've seen one small display of the Northern Lights, some years ago, near Calgary, which is quite far south. I'm still looking forward to going up north to see more.
In the meantime, please keep posting your photos. It is something most people never see.

The Northern Lights--wow, what a wonderful thing to be able to see. It is something we just read about or see pictures of here, so to see the "real thing" would be phenomenal. Great photo. Have you recuperated from your wonderful trip to Australia? Mickie :)

Hi there - that’s very high on my list of "must see". We get a version in the South - but it's even harder to see because of the lack of land!

Splendid pictures.

Wonderful capture! I've seen three of them last March of this year for the first time since I moved here from the Philippines two years ago. And it was a great experience for me. I've always loved aurora borealis and dreamed of seeing it. My dream came true.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful sightings.
