Weekend Reflections and Scenic Sunday

From the tiny abandoned norwegian fishing village Nyksund, in the Vesterålen coastal area, on an extremely windless day in August.

The sea houses have now been turned into art galleries, restaurants and concert venues for music festivals. Many of the houses are in use as summer houses and rentals, and some house artists who live and work there.

The bold colors are typical of the northern parts of Norway.

I love the bold colors, and the reflections are almost perfect in that oh-so-still water.
Super photos.

Wow, these are fantastic. I love the rich colors of the buildings, and the water was so still, it's twice as nice.

Complètement dépaysant et très ... apaisant. Très beaux reflets, un peu froids.

The bold colors make for bold reflections. Do you think they painted their houses such bright colors to help them find the harbor when returning home from a fishing trip? It's my latest working theory.

The perfect calm turned the water into a mirror for perfect reflections. I imagine the color helps to brighten long winter days.

I like the wooden houses, makes me think of Wisconsin in the USA the imigrants probably brought this architecture to the States.

Amazing captures, what a perfect day. I think that would be a fun place to visit. I love when areas have been re-purposed and renewed.
