Signs, Signs #17

This has to be that place where you go out
and catch your own breakfast kippers!
It looks like the boat has an engine,
so at least you don't have to row :-)

I removed parts of the phone number in case anyone
felt tempted to inquire about availability :-)

Himmelsk #32 and Skywatch Friday, season 4, episode 41

Two days ago we had the most amazing sunset I have ever seen. The face of the sun was bright red, and probably due to pollution, or whatever, it didn't "shine" in the usual sense, it actually looked more like the full moon, except it was red. Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice as the sun came out yellow instead of red.

Again, this looks like the moon, but it is the setting SUN!

I'll probably be offline for a few days,
but I'll catch up on comments next week :-)

Guest Heart Thursday #54

We sat down for a while to catch our breaths on one of our walks this week, and I started looking around for hearts. And of course they were there. A heart shape in the rock, right in the middle of this photo.

A close-up, in case you don't see it in the first one:

Looking further out, the mountains in the distance,
and two trees form a heart in the middle of this one:

Looking down, a heart rock stepping stone.

Looking up, a cloud heart.

Since most of my hearts are found outside, in nature,
I'm adding a couple of "unnatural" ones.

I was cleaning the bathroom,
and the toilet freshener came in this box.
(No ad intended)

I happened to put it down next to the mirror:

Inside the lid of my eye shadow jar I spotted several hearts:

Signs, Signs #16

This is from a cemetery in Bergen, Norway.
"Naturgass" is probably self explanatory,
but for the record, it means natural gas.

So, this side must be for those with indigestion....?

Guest Heart Thursday #53

A couple of weeks ago I wrote that I posted what I hoped were the last snow hearts of this winter season. Well, here's one more. It's big, huge actually, as you can see it from right across the fjord.

My other hearts this week:

A fog heart.

A tree log end heart.
A tree top heart.

Two pavement hearts.

Heart shaped flower petals.

Signs, Signs #15

In January 2000 My husband and I went to Morocco for a week. It was his Christmas present to me, all booked, and ready to go, 2 weeks after Christmas. I love presents like that!
These pictures are scanned from the old APS films we had then, so the quality is not too good. But even then, long before I had even heard of blogging, I enjoyed photographing signs.
The languages in Morocco are arabic, which I don't know at all, french, which I know enough of to kind of get by, and various tribal languages. Signs were mostly in arabic, and in some cases, also in french.

We assumed this one meant "STOP"

I would love to know what this means, if anyone understands it!

We rented a car and drove into the Atlas mountains. On our way to the mountain pass Tizi n Test, we passed by this "restaurant". This was literally in the middle of nowhere, but Coca Cola was there, at least we understood that part :-)

Reaching the summit at altitude 2100 meters, this sign announced the restaurant "The beautiful view".  We saw beautiful views while driving up, but on top we drove into heavy fog, and didn't see a thing.

This was the "restaurant":

"Road built by the Public Works Department in Morocco"
1926-1932

I loved Morocco and would love to go back!
