Himmelsk #32 and Skywatch Friday, season 4, episode 41

Two days ago we had the most amazing sunset I have ever seen. The face of the sun was bright red, and probably due to pollution, or whatever, it didn't "shine" in the usual sense, it actually looked more like the full moon, except it was red. Unfortunately, the pictures don't do it justice as the sun came out yellow instead of red.

Again, this looks like the moon, but it is the setting SUN!

I'll probably be offline for a few days,
but I'll catch up on comments next week :-)

You really did capture gorgeous skies here. Sometimes hazy skies are the best - for photographers, that is!

Lovely pair of shots! I especially like the 2nd one with the two sets of hills, one black and one blue, silhouetted against the grey to pink evening sky. I'm glad you also chose to place the setting sun off center. All in all, a very powerful and appealing image!

Flotte bilder - nydelige, stemningsfulle fargenyanser og solen på nr 2 er nesten av afrikansk kvalitet. Liker bildene dine godt!

I am impressed by the clarity and definition of these photos!

I WONDER WHY

I wonder why
Some love the sky
But not the wind and rain.

I wonder, friend,
If sky will end—
It’s too much for my brain!

Stunning! I hope it's not due to pollution. I'd hate for there to be an ugly cause for such a pretty sight!
