Challenge #2 - Bokeh

This is my first attempt for the challenge from the
"2 daughters, 1 mother, 3 cameras" blog.

I had no idea what Bokeh was, until I read this explanation,
and realized I'v been taking lots of pictures in this style
without knowing it had a name :-)

Shadow Shot Sunday #123

First out is a lamp in a pousada we once stayed in in Brazil.

Then a tiny shadow I found in the garden today.

And finally, my favorite shot today is moonlight from a near full moon
(-2 days) shining through our deck door and casting shadows on the floor,
with the reflexion of the moon itself thrown in, at 1.50 am tonight.

Sometimes you just have to sacrifice sleep for shots like this :-)

Color Carnival #58

Someone must be having a cheerful holiday :-)
I caught this one as we drove by in our own camper van,
an ordinary silver colored one.

Himmelsk #2

De siste to ukene før min mann ble utskrevet fra Haukeland Sykehus, bodde vi begge på sykehotellet,
og nærmeste nabo er Årstad kirke.

Det ble flotte fotomotiv,
både i dagslys og flomlys.

Himmelsk i dobbel forstand!

Ruby Tuesday

First a picture from the corridor on the 20th floor of the brand new
(opened Oct. 09) W Hotel in Barcelona, Spain.
It's the hotel that looks like a big sail right on the edge of the sea.
Amazing hotel.

We stayed there before we boarded the Norwegian Jade,
of Norwegian Cruise Lines, last January.
This one's from the piano bar onboard the ship.

And finally, my favorite coffee mug :-)

Mellow Yellow

I am posting two very contrasting photos.

This first one is taken in a poor fishing village in Brazil.

And this one is from outside the casino in Monte Carlo.

C

C is for Crispy home made flat bread that a friend of mine makes.
It is just full of fibers, seeds and whole grains,
all natural goodness, and sooo tasty :-)

Shadow Shot Sunday #122

I'm just making a quick contribution to Shadow Shot Sunday
(check out more Shadow shots there),
before I go and update my other blog.

The rowan trees are full of berries,
and they make lovely fall decorations.

Photo time: Fly on the wall

The Photo Time theme this week is Fly on the wall.
Mine is on a window, but I think that works too.

Color Carnival

I just felt the need for some sweet color before I call it a night :-)
I enjoy the sight, but I don't eat this stuff, it's so full of everything artificial.
The picture is taken at a market in Barcelona, Spain.

Skywatch Friday, season 4, episode 10

Skywatch Friday

This is how grey the day was; it's a color photo,
and it's right out of the camera, no editing!

But fortunately all days are different, and here is a colorful one.

Himmelsk

Himmelsk is the norwegian word for heavenly, but it can also mean delightful.
This challenge is the norwegian version of SkyWatchFriday.
Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

Interesting cloud formation.
Interessant skyformasjon.

This seagull used to come to our flag pole every afternoon. He (I always thought of him as a he) would sit there and rest one of his legs (he would land on two, pull one up, and sit there balancing on the other one) while keeping an eye on his kingdom.

I caught this amazing light while passing through the Strait of Messina on a Mediterranean cruise in 2007. We sailed from a sunny clear blue sky into a grey wall of bad weather, but the the sun got through for a few minutes. After passing through the strait we were back under the sun and the blue sky. The captain informed us that this was often the case in that area.

Finally a shot of the full moon on March 30. this year,
at 12.30 am from our deck.
Til slutt et bilde av fullmånen 30. mars i år, kl. 00.30 fra terrassen vår.

White Wednesday - on a Thursday

The sign on my studio door. It says atelier, because I bought it in France.

A proud birch tree, represented here by only a piece of it's beautiful white leg.

I should ask you if you can see what this is, but I'll give the answer now:
it's frost covered cob webs from under the deck railing, taken last winter.

These little white flowers can be found literally everywhere in Norway in the spring.

And finally, a sign in a small village in the south of France. Bimbo Fitness???

Watery Wednesday

Watery Wednesday calls for watery pictures.
This first one is of a little water.

Then a lot of water.

And finally: do you see the heart?
I only saw it when I got the picture up on my computer screen :-)

Check out Watery Wednesday for more great pictures of water!
